Erectile Dysfunction

Ed Solutions You Need To Know

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a sexual disorder in males. It is also known as impotence, which is a condition characterized by the inability to get or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.

ED can affect men of all ages. It is more common with advancing age, although everybody doesn't need to experience such difficulties.

Impotence can have various underlying causes, including physiological, psychological, or a combination of both factors. The condition can be managed with several remedies.

Ways to manage ED

Men suffering from ED problems may not feel comfortable discussing their sexual weakness with anyone. They may even avoid consulting a healthcare provider that can help them manage the condition well.

They may not feel driven to disclose their problems with a healthcare provider because of shame. They may feel embarrassed to open up about their difficulties.

This hesitance to seek treatment is natural, but that does not mean one should suffer in silence. The erection difficulties can be overcome with several solutions.

Here are some ed solutions that nobody told you about:

Oral ED medications

ED medications are oral pills or tablets that have to be taken some time before a planned sexual activity. They boost the blood flow inside the penile blood vessels.

They ease the blood flow through the penile arteries by causing vasodilation. They conduct vasodilation by triggering the release of nitric oxide (NO) in the walls of penile arteries.

Here are several ED meds approved by the FDA:

Viagra (Sildenafil)

Viagra drugs are one of the most popular and widely used ED medications out there. The pill typically begins working within 30 to 60 minutes. Its effects can last for up to 4 to 6 hours. Viagra generics like Fildena 100 offer the same benefits as the former.

Cialis (Tadalafil)

Cialis meds are well-known for their long duration of action. Their effects can last for up to 36 hours in the bloodstream. The pill can be taken as needed, that is, before a planned sex.

Low doses of these pills can be taken daily for continuous effect. High doses are not appropriate for daily use.

Levitra or Staxyn

Just like Viagra or Cialis, these medicines typically start working within 30 to 60 minutes. Their effects remain for about 4 to 6 hours in the bloodstream.

Stendra (Avanafil)

Stendra meds are popular for their rapid onset of action, which typically begins within 15 to 30 minutes after intake. Their effects can last for up to 6 hours.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

If the issues with erection function are happening because of low testosterone levels, then healthcare providers may prescribe TRT. This therapy helps restore hormonal balance and improve erectile response.

The therapy can be administered through injections, patches, gels, or pellets.

Vacuum erection devices (VEDs)

These are also called penile pumps. This is a non-invasive technique that involves the use of suction pressure. It draws the blood flow towards the penile to promote firmer erections.

Penile pumps can also be used along with other treatment techniques, such as oral ED pills or ED rings.

Penile implants

Penile implants are an invasive technique that involves a surgical procedure. The implantation is conducted through surgical means. The procedure allows men to achieve an erection by manually regulating the implant.

This method is prescribed as a last resort when other treatment techniques for ED have failed to produce the desired result.

Psychotherapy treatment

Men with psychogenic ED can opt for psychotherapy sessions. These sessions are planned to address the psychological issues of an individual. They help overcome issues like stress, anxiety, relationship problems, etc.

These sessions have to be taken by visiting the healthcare expert’s clinic. They will analyze your situation and based on the underlying problem, conduct a suitable therapy session.

Quit smoking

Those who smoke are more likely to develop erection problems very early on. The major reason why smoking leads to ED is it contributes to vascular disorders. The harmful chemicals contained in the smoke affect the walls of the blood vessels.

The toxic chemicals cause the blood vessels to become narrow. As a result, the blood vessels turn hard, and the blood pressure increases. This causes vascular damage.

To revive the vascular function, it is essential to give up your smoking habits and tobacco usage.

Limit alcohol intake

Chronic alcohol consumption can cause impairment of vascular function in the penile, leading to erection problems. Alcohol affects the endothelium, which is the inner lining of blood vessels responsible for regulating vascular tone, blood flow, and the release of nitric oxide.

Alcohol abuse can disrupt endothelial function, leading to vasoconstriction, and a decrease in the blood supply to the penile.
