Why Taking Viagra As A Party Drug Is A Bad Idea

Viagra medicines are approved for use in only those individuals who are experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence issues. The medicine must be taken only before a planned sexual activity. These must not be used recreationally or as a party drug.

About Viagra

Viagra is a branded medicine approved by the FDA for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. A sexual difficulty like erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, can happen because of constrictions of the penile blood vessels.

These constrictions prevent the flow of blood to the penile. Lack of blood supply to the penile affects the erection function. As a result, the penile remains flaccid despite complete sexual arousal.

However, Viagra overcomes the constrictions and increases the blood supply to the penile. The medicine will work only during arousal, as it does not produce its effects spontaneously. This is why it must be taken around 30 minutes to an hour before an anticipated sexual activity.

For those who cannot afford such expensive medicines, there is an alternative option like Fildena. These medicines offer the same benefits as Viagra because they both contain the same active ingredient.

Active ingredient of Viagra

Viagra medicines come as oral pills containing an active ingredient, Sildenafil Citrate. This compound has been classified under the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) drugs category.

It is a potent vasodilator that works by triggering the release of nitric oxide (NO) in the walls of the penile blood vessels. NO is a chemical that relieves muscle tension. It overcomes the constrictions and narrowing of the penile blood vessels.

Why is Viagra used recreationally?

Pleasure-seekers or clubbers might think about using Viagra as a party drug. Today’s hook-up culture has led them to do so. They use it to boost their sexual performance and impress their sex partner.

According to them, Viagra might help them achieve harder and long-lasting erections. However, the recreational use of Viagra is full of risks. It is not suitable for recreational use. It is a drug that must be used only after a healthcare provider’s prescription, and that too, only when you are having erectile dysfunction.

Using this drug when you do not have erectile dysfunction will not get you any extraordinary results in your erection function. Instead, unnecessary usage of it will increase the risk of side effects.

Viagra medicines cannot be taken without proper guidance from the healthcare provider. For using them, you require an appropriate dose according to the severity. Using them without the knowledge of dosing and safety instructions will have negative consequences.

Risks of using Viagra as a party drug

Party goers do not use Viagra without alcohol and drugs. Substance abuse is very common in parties. They might consider using Viagra just like any other club drug. But using it without a need will not offer them an exceptional performance as they wish.

The interaction of Viagra with other substances can lead to dangerous side effects, that include:

Viagra-Drug interaction: The combination of Viagra with some recreational drugs like cocaine and other psychoactive substances is not safe. Their interaction can potentiate the risk of life-threatening side effects.

It might have a damaging impact on the heart. Therefore, it is better to avoid combining Viagra with recreational drugs.

Viagra-Alcohol interaction: Taking alcohol and Viagra together will make the side effects of Viagra more intense. The person might develop severe dizziness, lack of coordination, headache, drowsiness, altered perception, vomiting and others.

Viagra side effects

Some possible common side effects of Viagra medicines include headaches, insomnia, vomiting, stuffy nose or nasal congestion, nausea, rashes, sore throat, back pain, flushing, stomachache, blurred vision, diarrhea, and dizziness. These mild effects are quite common, and they do not stay for long.

Rare side effects of Viagra drugs might include vision changes or sudden vision loss, priapism (painful erection lasting for more than 4 hours), chest pain, palpitations, seizure, and tinnitus or ringing in the ears. If you experience any of these, stop using the medicine and see your doctor immediately.

Talk to your doctor before using Viagra

Viagra is a prescription-only drug. It is suitable for unnecessary use. Using it as a party drug is indeed a bad idea. Doing so will potentiate your risk of dangerous side effects that can be life-threatening.

To be on the safer side, it is necessary to ask the doctor before considering its usage. Viagra is appropriate for use during clubbing. It must be used only for overcoming impotence issues. It is strictly not for recreational purposes.
